I’m Meg, and I love cooking food, eating food, and writing about food.
I’ve always loved all of the above, but – as for most people – found my love for cooking when I flew the nest and had to fend for myself in the kitchen.
Couple that with a stressful job and a (at times) just-as-stressful personal life, being in the kitchen became my safe space, and cooking became a distraction.
Infact, cooking has seen me through every chapter of my adult life – the chaotic ones when you need something quick and nourishing, the calm ones when you want to cook low and slow, and everything in between.
Trust me, there is a meal for every occasion and every mood.
So with all that, I like to show people that food is SO much more than just fuel. It can be a centrepiece for conversation, a way to connect, and play a starring role in so many of our memories.
And most of all, I love to show that cooking doesn’t need to be feared after a long day, as there are so many ways to make it easier.
You can cook easy meals, enjoy the process, and give your body and/or soul plenty of goodness…whether that’s through what you’re feeding it, or how much you enjoyed the act of cooking.
When I’m not in the kitchen, I love going to gigs, going on holidays/city breaks (or at least looking online for my next one!), and spending time with my loved ones. I’m lucky that my nearest and dearest are all foodies too, so they’re always happy to try out my recipes or accompany me to a restaurant I’m waiting to try. Infact, I fear my boyfriend might even be a better cook than me…
Thanks for stopping by my little slice of online, I hope you enjoy your stay.
Meg x
